This large terraced olive grove is in an elevated remote mountain hamlet, 16km from beaches and beaches in Kolymbari, and 45 minutes from the bustling Venetian city of Chania. It enjoys lovely rural and mountain views in quiet surroundings.
The olive trees produce approximately 1,000kg of pure Cretan olive oil a year and also create a peaceful and relaxing environment. The landscape is stunning and offers a feeling of seclusion beneath the mountains, yet the plot is on the edge of a friendly and picturesque Cretan village.
There is a 140m2 traditional tiled-roof house that can be renovated, and the build allowance as a single plot is 400m2. However, it could be divided into three separate plots with 400m2 build allowance on each.
Several houses in the hamlet have been restored and are used for weekend escapes or for summer vacations. The nearest village, in a popular walking area, is 4kms away and has a mini-market and tavernas. Otherwise Kolymbari is the nearest town for main shopping. Road access is good and (surprisingly) all services are near by.
Warning: do not think about viewing this property if you seek exciting nightlife or a bustling village, because this hamlet is very remote and very quiet!
