This large deluxe house is in an elevated position just 300 metres from the sea, in a sought-after village on the west coast of Crete. The individual design takes advantage of the stunning sea views ... ideal for watching the fantastic Cretan sunsets!
The village is 20 minutes from Kissamos, 50 minutes from the Venetian city of Chania, and contains several tavernas and a couple of mini-markets. There is a pebble beach here, and the famous pink-tinged Falassarna beach is just 15 minutes away. Kissamos offers further beaches, and full shopping facilities.
The accommodation comprises a huge living room with powerful wood-burning stove, wall shelving, and large glazed doors providing access to the west terrace; a dining area with glazed doors giving access to the south terrace and garden; a fully-fitted kitchen including dishwasher and microwave; a storage room; a main bedroom with fitted wardrobe and access to the south/east gardens; a large fitted and fully-tiled family bathroom with shower cabin, stainless steel/glass sink and additional fan heating; a separate fully-tiled toilet/wash room; and a large second bedroom/study with sea views and access to the north terrace and garden.
Outside the house, the large shaded west terrace overlooks the sea; and there are further terraces to the north and south. There is also an external storage building with shower/toilet facilities, washing machine, tool storage, and outside kitchen; a garage with shaded car port suitable for camper-van parking, electrically-operated door and further storage; and two wood stores.
The whole plot is bounded by stone walls and fencing, and there are large mature gardens to the north, east and south of the house, which contain: one of the last threshing circles in the village; potable and agricultural watering systems; a large reserve water tank with pressure pump; compost bins; a ramp for trailer access; a concrete base for caravan parking or shed installation; fig, pear, lemon and orange trees; vines; and 12 olive trees giving shade and producing around 75kg of oil annually. In front of the house, there is a large open parking area for more than 5 cars, and the main road entrance has steel gates which can cleverly be removed if large vehicle access is required.
The house was built in 2005 to a deluxe standard for year-round living, and has been very well maintained. It has aluminium doors/windows with shutters and insect screens, solar hot water and immersion heater, wood-burning stove, plumbing ready for central heating if required, and separate heavy-duty circuits for electrical heating if required. All services are connected, and there are two satellite TV dishes plus one for satellite internet if required.
The sale price includes all furniture, fixtures and fittings (except personal mementoes), garden furniture, most of the tools, and even a B&O television. This deluxe house is close to the beach, shops and restaurants, has fabulous sea views, and is ready to move into!
